How I Met Your Mother actress Cobie Smulders appeared on the big screen as Maria Hill in The Avengers last year and she is set to reprise the role, for the Marvel movie sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Cobie has been speaking about her Marvel experience and what she knows about the Captain America movie so far.
Smulders told I Am Rogue, “I’ve seen parts of it, but yeah I don’t know much. This is Marvel! They don’t let you know anything. It’s very watermarked scripts, heavily watermarked,” she explained. “Yeah, they don’t let you know like the day of, but they are very secretive and I think they are still figuring stuff out. I don’t know the exact dates [filming begins]. I know it's sometime in March or June.”
Cobie also spoke about the possibility of playing Maria Hill in the TV series S.H.I.E.L.D. and if she plans to continue portraying the character in the future, “The commitments to [How I Met Your Mother] don’t affect it. And I can’t really say, but there are definite talks about it,” she said, adding “Oh yeah! I’m very excited. I will do Maria Hill until they fire me and hire someone else to do it.”
As well as Cobie Smulders, Captain America: The Winter Soldier also sees the return of Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L Jackson and Chris Evans, as well as adding Anthony Mackie to the cast as The Falcon. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is set to be released on April 4, 2014 in both the US and the UK.
