Total Recall actor Colin Farrell has revealed how the birth of his son James back in 2003 helped him to change for the better. However, Colin does state that, when James was first born, he decided that he was not going to change at all.

Farrell explained, “When I had James, I made a decision not to change. I literally said, ‘I’m not changing! I’m going to be his friend!’ Like a 28-year-old drug-addicted drunk friend is exactly what my six-week-old son needs.”
However, Colin did eventually decide to change for the sake of his son and entered into rehab. Since leaving rehab back in 2006, Colin admits that he has found and extra eight hours in his day which he never had when he was an addict.

He added, “I’ve got eight hours a day now that I didn’t have before when I was drinking every day for 18 years… It’s honest, it’s real. That’s quite simply the coolest thing.”
Colin Farrell can currently be seen on the big screen in the movie Seven Psychopaths, which is out now in the US and is set to be released in the UK on December 7.
