The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become enormous over the course of the past few years and it is showing no signs of slowing down over the course of the next few years, with plenty of project set to come our way. While we will be getting plenty of Marvel movie sequels in the coming years, we are also going to get some new Marvel movies hitting the big screen.
One of the upcoming Marvel movies that fans are very excited about, is the Ant-Man movie, which has been getting a lot of attention over the past few months. Actor Corey Stoll has a role in the Ant-Man movie, after being cast by the departing director Edgar Wright, and he has insisted that the film will exceed the expectations of the fans and critics alike.
Stoll told Collider, "I’m absolutely thrilled! Reading the script – and the script that Edgar wrote, and the script that there is now – it’s insane that this movie hasn’t been made before. Obviously, you need the technology because it needs to look great. But the whole idea of the changing of scale and the experiential effect of size changing is just so cool. You read these scenes on the page, and I just got giddy. I think it’s gonna be so much fun."
He added, "You can get a little fatigued with superheroes because everybody is just punching everybody, or shooting everybody with ray beams. This is a completely different kinetic experience in the theater. Shrinking and growing back, there’s just so much material there to root it in. I think it’s gonna be great."
As well as Corey Stoll having a role in Ant-Man, the cast will also include the likes of Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Patrick Wilson, and Michael Pena. Ant-Man will now be directed by Peyton Reed and will open on July 17, 2015 in both the US and the UK.
