There has been a long old debate about who is the best player in the world, with the debate always coming down to two players; Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona star Lionel Messi. Over the course of his International career, Cristiano Ronaldo has made 110 appearances for Portugal, scoring 49 goals along the way.

While this will clearly devastate Portugal supporters, it will definitely make Real Madrid happy, as they will be able to have their best player at the top of his game for longer than they had hoped. Cristiano Ronaldo will make his last appearances for Portugal in the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, before calling it quits and focussing all his attention on Real Madrid.
