Cuba Gooding Jr, the well known actor who scored an Academy Award for the 1996 film Jerry Maguire is rumored to be a vampire due to his lack of pulse. No. Just joking. Mr Gooding Jr don't slap us with with libel charges! Honestly though, the boy has not really been up to much. But sometimes that's important and that's why we're updating you because doesn't everyone say to themselves "Whatever happened to...." and this is one of those updates! I mean, "Show me the money!" was THE phrase of the 90s so we mustn't let Cuba Gooding Jr slip through the cracks.
It does seem Cuba may have gotten ill-behaved with age! There have been several drink-related rumors of bad behavior circulating through various star-related press but charges were dropped so nothing much to mention that he has been convicted of. Seems Cuba spends his nights drinking and his days working on some risky (for him) projects.
Cuba admits he told Spielberg 'no' to a role in Amistad, feeling he was 'too big' to play the role of a slave (Cuba Gooding Jr lists this incident as one of his biggest regrets), and now having recently completed a role in 'The Butler' which is a very 'racial' film depicting him as a Butler, it seems Cuba Gooding Jr may be getting some creative stirrings after nothing more interesting than 'Snow Dogs' being in his artistic pockets.
As a 'Cuba Gooding Jr aside' -two of my personal favorite films do have Cuba Gooding Jr on the cast list, 'As Good as it Gets' and 'What Dreams May Come'. If you ask my husband, an action fan, the best way to cure insomnia fast is to watch my favorite films. Don't take our word for it! Check out this mediocre legend of sorts and see if you like his creative efforts of late, focusing more on movies that address issues of race, socio-economic hardship and opportunity. I give him credit for growing up, at least artistically, and taking on some risky projects. At least we are pretty sure he is NOT a vampire.
