Screenwriter Dan Fogelman has revealed how he had a meeting about potentially penning the script for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. Dan says that he was very excited about the possibility of writing the Fifty Shades of Grey screenplay and pitched his idea based on a scene from Crazy, Stupid, Love.

During an interview with Collider, Fogelman explained, “I think so. It was a little overblown. I had one conversation with the producers about it, and that was it. I liked the challenge of it. I thought it could have been a really cool job.”

He added, “The pitch was basically the scene in Crazy, Stupid, Love where [Ryan] Gosling seduces Emma Stone, with a harder sexual quality, but still a romantic comedy. It’s going to be very hard to execute, but the classy version of that movie could be really huge and interesting.”
Unfortunately for Dan Fogelman he missed out on getting to write the script for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, as Kelly Marcel has been given the writing duties. There have been plenty of rumour surrounding the film but, as of yet, nothing has been confirmed, in terms of director or cast.
