Danai Gurira is best known for playing Michonne on the Walking Dead, but how has her career fared since landing such a major role on arguably one of the biggest hits on cable TV?
Gurira's been acting since 2004, when she had a small part on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. After that, she didn't have any roles until she played Zainab in 'The Visitor' in 2007, which then led to a handful of roles in TV shows and films. After guest stars on Law and Order and Lie To Me, among many others, she then starred in the TV 'Treme' from 2010 to 2011.
Of course, her life would soon change after she landed Michonne on the Walking Dead, which aired in 2012 for the first time on AMC. She seems to actually be taking her time in terms of making career choices and deciding what to act in, since she had only one role in a movie in 2013, called 'Mother George'.
She will also star in 'Lives of the Saints' in 2014, but it's pretty clear that the success of the Walking Dead has allowed her to make decisions more carefully and choose roles that appeal to her as opposed to choosing roles just to pay the bills.
