There were a number of Hollywood stars battling it out for the role of Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, including Les Misérables actor Eddie Redmayne and Romeo and Juliet star Douglas Both. However they both missed out as the role went to Chronicle actor Dane DeHaan.
There had been a lot of speculation about who would eventually get the role and Dane had previously admitted that he would love to play Harry Osborn. Now, it has been officially confirmed that DeHaan has got his wish and has won the role for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Director Marc Webb took to his official Twitter account to say, “Meet Harry Osborn. @danedehaan” along with the picture above. Meanwhile, DeHaan himself took to his own Twitter account to reveal his joy at winning the role, “To say I’m excited is an understatement,” he wrote.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will see the return of Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. It has also been confirmed that Shailene Woodley will play Mary Jane Watson, while Jamie Foxx has been cast as Electro. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released on May 2, 2014.
