Those of you that are into your motor sport, especially NASCAR and the likes, will be well aware that there has been a lot of talk about a potential race between the legendary racer Richard Petty and woman driver Danica Patrick. While many have seen these as just a bit of friendly banter, it looks like things might now be getting serious.
Tony Stewart was the one that suggested Danica Patrick challenge Richard Petty to a race, after the veteran said a few choice words about Danica.
Stewart challenged, "I think that (a race) would pretty much settle it once and for all, maybe get him to shut up a little bit, too. I will supply the cars. If he wants to race her, I'll make sure they have exactly the same setup in the car and give him the chance. He can drive one of my 14 cars. I don't care."
It now looks like a race between Danica Patrick and Richard Petty is getting ever closer to actually becoming a reality, after Richard confirmed that he would definitely be up for taking on Danica. He accepted, "I'm 76 years old, OK? It's been 25 years since I've been in a race car. But I'll take that challenge. Oh, yeah. When is this going to happen?" We are now just waiting on Patrick's response.
Richard Petty is a NASCAR hall of famer, with the record amount of wins to his name (200), as well as having the joint record of championships to his name with seven. Meanwhile, Danica Patrick is the most successful female NASCAR racer and looks like she can only get better.
