When it was revealed that Hollywood were making a big screen adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, it was expected that they would then go on to make the sequels, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’s Nest.

However, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo did not exactly live up to expectations and received mixed reviews from the critics. Add to that, the fact that the movie only managed to gross $233m worldwide and it could prove difficult for the studio to see any financial gain from the sequels.
When asked if he knew anything about The Girl Who Played with Fire, Daniel Craig admitted that he is as much in the dark as everybody else, “Not as yet, not as yet. We’re just waiting around, waiting for a script and all these things. Talk to the Sony people, they’re in charge.”
