Hollywood legend Daniel Day-Lewis has hinted that he may decide to take a bit of a break from acting, following his record-breaking success at the Oscars last night. Daniel became the first ever actor to pick up three Best Actor Oscars and admitted that he will find it difficult to decide where to go from here.
Upon being asked if he had any roles that he would like to play next, Day-Lewis joked, "I can’t think of any right now because I need to have a lie down for a couple of years after this one. No, I can’t think of any – I really can’t, no. It’s really hard to imagine doing anything after this."
He then added, "I'm definitely out of character at this moment. If I slip back into it by mistake, you can do an intervention of some kind, the Heimlich manoeuvre or whatever it is you do for actors stuck in character."
Daniel Day-Lewis' victory at the Academy Awards last night put him out on his own, as the only ever man to have won three Best Actor Oscars, while eight other men, Spencer Tracy, Fredric March Jack Nicholson, Dustin Hoffman, Marlon Brando, Gary Cooper, Sean Penn and Tom Hanks, have all won two.
Does this success make Daniel Day-Lewis the greatest actor of all time?
