Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has been talking about the popularity of himself and Twilight actor Robert Pattinson claiming that their fame has more to do with the success of their respective franchise than it does their actual acting ability. Daniel admitted that he believes an actor has to stand to test of time to truly be recognised as a great actor.
Radcliffe explained, "People like me and Rob Pattinson... are at the moment big names and bankable — whatever that means. There are very few actors whose saying yes to something would mean a green light for that film. I think probably George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Johnny Depp, are the only three that have that kind of pull, and that comes from how they’ve had very long careers and are universally respected as actors and as professionals.”
He added, “So there’s a long way to go before we’re at that stage. I know that people, generally speaking, have only seen me in one role, and I need to prove to them that I can do other stuff" Daniel Radcliffe can currently be seen on the big screen in the movie The Woman in Black, while Robert Pattinson can next be seen on the big screen in the movie Bel Ami, which is set to be released in the US on March 2 and the UK on March 9.
