There has been a lot of discussions about which Marvel characters we should see on the big screen next but, before we start thinking about future characters, we still have the small matter of casting one of the films that we know is on the way. Marvel have been trying to get a Doctor Strange movie off the ground for many years now and it looks like they are very close to getting it done.
A script for the Doctor Strange movie is already being worked on and it looks like the director of the film is going to be either Jonathan Levine or Scott Derrickson, who are currently the favourites to helm the project. With that said, which ever man does get the directors chair will already know who he will be directing in the lead role, as the Doctor Strange actor has now been revealed.
There have been a lot of big Hollywood names being linked to the role of Doctor Strange for the new Marvel movie but it has now been confirmed that British actor Daniel Radcliffe has been cast in the lead role. Daniel already knows what it is like to carry the weight of a huge movie franchise on his shoulders, being the boy who grew up as Harry Potter.
In the past few years, Daniel Radcliffe has stated that he wants to be known for more than just being Harry Potter and what better way to do that than sign up to star in another huge movie franchise. Doctor Strange is expected to begin shooting early in 2015, with a release date expected for 2016 or even 2017.
