British actor Daniel Radcliffe will forever be remembered in his role as Harry Potter and, no matter what he does or how much he achieves in the movie industry, that Harry Potter shadow will always be lurking over his head. While Daniel will be eternally grateful to the role, he has been trying to get people to see him as more than just Harry Potter.
Over the years we have seen many actors get stuck playing similar roles in all of their projects, ultimately finding that they have become typecast to a particular role. This is something that Daniel Radcliffe is determined not to happen to him in his career and he insists that any good actor will avoid becoming typecast.
Radcliffe was recently talking about his career, when he explained, "No actor – no good actor – will allow himself to be typecast," he said, before then going on to say, "Actors should always be looking to move on to different challenges and that’s what I’m doing."
You cannot deny that Daniel Radcliffe has been trying his hardest to move away from his Harry Potter days and take on a number of different roles along the way. Daniel has already put in some impressive post-Potter performances, with the likes of Woman in Black and Kill Your Darlings and we are looking forward to seeing what else he gives us in the future.
