There have been a lot of cases over the years, where a hit television series becomes so successful that there are soon plans made for a spin-off series to take place and that is exactly what has happened with the show NCIS. Since then we have had a couple of NCIS spin-off shows, including the series NCIS: Los Angeles which has become a hit in its own right.
One of the stars of NCIS: Los Angeles is the beautiful actress Daniela Ruah, who plays the role of Kensi Blye in the series, which sees Kensi have a close relationship with Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen). Daniela has now opened up about that relationship, comparing it to that of Tony and Ziva from the parent series.
Ruah told TV Guide Magazine, "If you compare us to the other show, our characters have similar traits. If you go by the very superficial traits of these characters, you've got the brunette, kick-ass girl who's too tough for her own good, and then you've got the sarcastic funnyman, and I think that since people already compare us by those traits, if you didn't differentiate where the relationship goes, it would just be a repetition of what's been done before. So the fact that we've shown something more than just the banter and flirtation between these two characters was actually quite crucial to our show."
Daniela Ruah has played the role of Kensi Blye in NCIS: Los Angeles since the show premiered back in 2009 and has appeared in 112 episodes along the way. NCIS: Los Angeles is now i its fifth season and continues to air on CBS on Tuesday evenings at 9/8c.
