There have been plenty of occasions over the years, that we have seen more than one movie focusing on the same subject, and that is exactly what has happened with the life and times of Steve Jobs. We have already had a Steve Jobs movie in recent years and we now have another one coming our way this year.
British director Danny Boyle enjoyed working on the new Steve Jobs film and he has admitted that he has learnt a lot from the two stars of the project. Danny says that Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet did a fantastic job on the movie, teaching him a lot about film acting.
Boyle explained, "I learned more about film acting. Especially these two [Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet]. A lot of it is their mental preparation. And it's not about slavishly learning lines, though in this case it was, because of the nature of it. But the execution of it is simple, in a way. They just step into it. It was extraordinary. There's no demarcation: 'Stop that fun, everybody! Stop everything! Action!' It was just, like, 'Go!'"
He added, "That was real film acting, and I loved kind of recording it, watching it happen. And something extraordinary happens to Fassbender in act three where he just is the guy. We set out not to make it slavish and gestural with the hair and everything, because that would be boring and we'd be concentrating on that. We just wanted to flow into it."
As well as starring Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet, the rest of the Steve Jobs cast includes such talented stars as Katherine Waterson, Seth Rogen, Sarah Snook, and Jeff Daniels, among others. Meanwhile, Danny Boyle directed Steve Jobs from the screenplay that Andy Sorkin developed from the Walter Isaacson book, with a release date set for October 9 in the US and November 13 in the UK.
