Danny Dyer auditioned for Batman role

English actor Danny Dyer has revealed how he auditioned for the part of Robin in the 1997 Joel Schumacher movie Batman & Robin. However, Danny missed out on the role as it went to Chris O’Donnell, who had played the part in the previous Batman movie Batman Forever.

Dyer explained, ""Well I auditioned for American History X - I got quite close to that. I mean, I totally understand that Edward Furlong was amazing in it, and he is American so they went down that route with it. I auditioned for Primal Fear as well and ironically that was weird, because Edward Norton got that part! I auditioned for Robin in Batman & Robin with Joel Schumacher. It's strange really because for every one part you get, you lose out on 20 - rejection, you get used to that pretty early, but you still want to know why, you want to know details. Why? Why don't they want me?”

He added, "You're in competition with so many actors, you can't just be in competition with yourself - you've just got to accept it and move on. I was given many rejections to start with and I'm sure there have been many actors that I have beat to the jobs that feel the same way." Danny Dyer recently revealed how he intends to prove to people that he is a serious actor, by taking a range of different roles and showing of his versatility.
