As most of you will be very much aware by now, the Red Sox pulled off a sensational comeback against the Tigers to win Game 2 of the American League Championship Series. Red Sox were five down and looked all but beaten, before David Ortiz stepped up to turn the game on its head.
Following their brilliant comeback, winning the game 6-5, David Ortiz has been praised by many of the people in the Red Sox camp. Outfielder Jonny Gomes stated, "We’re down five and we’ve got one hit and we’re pumped. You just need a little bit of kindling to start a big fire."
Meanwhile, Boston manager John Farrell said, "David so many times has come up big, whether it’s the regular season, postseason. None bigger than tonight.," while second baseman Dustin Pedroia added, "We were trying to do all we can to get the tying run up. Glad it was him."
The Red Sox have been united all season by their pronounced beards and they will be hoping that they can continue with another win tonight, as the Red Sox take on the Tigers in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series.
