It has been reported that Lincoln actor David Strathairn is currently in talks to join the cast of the new Godzilla movie. David is said to be in negotiations with the Godzilla reboot director Gareth Evans, who has been putting together a rather impressive cast for the project.
While plot and character details for the Godzilla reboot are few and far between, it is believed that David Strathairn is in talks to play some sort of military figure. The screenplay for Godzilla is being developed by Frank Darabont, who says that this new Godzilla film will include a terrifying force of nature.
If David Strathairn does agree to play the role, he will join the already impressive cast, which includes Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Johnson and Bryan Cranston, while it was also recently revealed that Oscar-winning star Juliette Binoche (Chocolat) has entered negotiations to join the cast of Godzilla.
Frank Darabont is currently working on the final polish of the script for the Godzilla reboot and it is expected that production on the movie will get underway later this year. Godzilla is expected to be released in the US and the UK on May 16, 2014.
