Former Doctor Who actor David Tennant will reprise his role as the Doctor for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special, which is just around the corner. David has now spoken about taking part in the episode, admitting that he is thrilled to be a part of such a huge event.
Tennant explained, "I think since I left, the expectation had been that I'd end up in this special, because there is a precedent for old Doctors coming back for a visit around the anniversary time. I was thrilled because it's a huge thing for Doctor Who and it's a huge thing for television in general."
He added, "You're just trying to film the scenes the best you possibly can, so you sort of put aside the idea that you're making something that is a moment in television history. The pressure of that would sort of paralyse you."
You can catch David Tennant in the Doctor Who 50 Anniversary Special, starring with Matt Smith, who will also leave the role in the Doctor Who Christmas Special, where he will then hand over to Peter Capaldi. The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special will air worldwide on Saturday, November 23.
