Barcelona forward David Villa expressed his interest in joining Arsenal next summer. The news comes after Arsenal had several bids for the player rejected by his current club Barcelona. One of the obstacles for the transfer was a huge transfer fee Barcelona were looking for.

Villa has failed to hold his place in the starting 11 at Barca
One Barcelona insider has told reporters Villa has decided to quit the Nou Camp next summer and a move to Arsenal would be his main priority.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger failed in a bid to land Villa last month. After a long-term injury last season, Villa has failed to command a first-team place at Barca this term. He has made just 15 competitive starts this season and yet still scored 10 goals.

Arsenal have recently signed a number of Spanish players
It looks like Wenger will have to change his policy of giving only one-year contracts to players over 30. Villa will probably be looking for a three or four-year-deal. He's currently earning £110,000 a week at the Nou Camp which Arsenal can pay without any problems.
The signing will also help please grumbling Gunners fans who have seen stars such as Cesc Fabregas, Gael Clichy, Kolo Toure Samir Nasri, Robin van Persie and Alex Song leave while the club has gone seven seasons with no silverware.
