The Tarzan movie has been in development for years now and it got to a point where many people thought that it was never going to happen. However, it appears that Warner Bros. are pushing ahead with the Tarzan movie and have signed up David Yates to direct the project.
According to reports coming from Vulture, David Yates, who was the director for the last four Harry Potter films, has agreed to helm the big screen adaptation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs tale Tarzan. David’s first task will be the casting of the king of the jungle.
It has been rumoured that David Yates has a hit list with three top Hollywood names on it, who he would like to cast as Tarzan. David will be looking to begin negotiations with either Alexander Skarsgard (Battleship), Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) and Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim).
There have also been claims that Warner Bros. would be interested in seeing Tom Hardy play Tarzan but it is unclear whether he would be interested in the project and whether or not David Yates would want him for the role.
