Former Dawsons Creek star James Van Der Beek has revealed how his new show Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 is set to have a mini Dawsons Creek reunion. James claims that the writers of his new show are fans of his old show and wanted to get Busy Philipps on the show.
Van Der Beek explained to Vulture, “They were all big fans of hers in the writer's room, and they pitched to me what they wanted to do. So the first thing I did was call Busy myself, because we're friends, and said, 'Listen, you're going to get this offer, but I just wanted to let you know - if you don't want to do it, I totally get it. But we'd love to have you'. And she did it. And she came on and was hilarious.”

James then went on to discuss his time on Dawsons Creek, admitting that it is still difficult to comprehend that whole period of time, even all these years on. James claims that there are only a handful of people in the world who could understand what he went through.
He added, “Being on something like Dawson's Creek is something that maybe five or six people in the world understand. It's not that it was hard, I mean, coal mining is hard. Being a soldier is hard. It's just one of those things that just does not compute in a lot of ways. So it's been really interesting to touch base with a lot of those guys this many years out... It was just a very unique experience. But we've all kind of come to a good place on it.”
Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 returns to ABC on Tuesday, October 23 at 9.30/8.30c.
