People do love a bit of celebrity beef and it has been claimed that there could well be some between Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift. Demi has spoken out in support of Kesha, who is taking legal action to get out of a record contract with a man she claims raped her, stating that more women need to find the courage to come forward about being raped.
Lovato said, "Frustrating to see women come forward with their past only to be shot down, not believed & disrespected for their bravery in taking action. Happens way too often. I’m ready for women to be taken just as seriously as men. Someone tell me why anyone would ever feel brave enough to come forward if they are most likely to be ignored or called a liar?"
While Demi Lovato was taking to her official social media accounts to speak out about the whole situation and what was going on, Taylor Swift decided to take a different approach, donating $250k to the campaign Kesha was leading, while offering to help her to continue with what she needs. This clearly did not sit too well with Demi, who decided to return to Twitter to have a bit of an attack on Taylor.
Lovato added, "Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I’ll be impressed," before continuing, "There’s no ‘rivalry’ I just give more f***s than other people and would rather start a dialogue ABOUT WOMEN COMING FORWARD ABOUT BEING RAPED than throw money at one person," before finally insisting that she was not having a dig at Swift in any way.
Whatever the case, you have to respect that different people do things in different ways and, while Demi Lovato is right and it is important for people, not only women, to come forward about being raped, it is also good to see that there are plenty of people willing to help out those in need and lend their support in other ways.
