Denzel Washington is one of the biggest and best movie stars on the planet and in his latest film Flight, he plays a pilot with a drinking problem. While talking about his latest movie, Denzel has reminisced about a time back in the 80s when he got drunk on the set of a movie, much to the disapproval of the director.
Washington explained, “It’s funny being back here because this is where I last tried to drink in a film. Back in the 1980s, I did a movie called For Queen and Country and it was freezing cold. So we were doing a scene and we drank a couple of Scotches or something.”
He added, “We were doing great, but the director was like, ‘Cut, cut. What are you doing? What’s wrong with you?’ We had thought we were brilliant, but he said, ‘No, you’re not. You’re drunk. That’s it for the day. Let’s go home.’”
Denzel Washington can next be seen on the big screen, starring alongside Mark Wahlberg, Paula Patton, Bill Paxton and James Marsden, in the movie 2 Guns, which is directed by Baltasar Kormakur and is set to be released on August 16.
