Dermot O’Leary, the host of the UK version of The X Factor, has revealed how he once had a wardrobe malfunction while back stage of the hit ITV singing competition. Dermot admitted that the zipper on his trousers broke and he had to do the whole show with just a safety pin keeping his fly together.
O’Leary explained, "I remember having a wardrobe malfunction on The X Factor. I had this tight-fitting Alexander McQueen suit. I felt the trousers rip...from pole to pole, shall we say. I just had to skilfully apply a safety pin and hope for the best. It was terrifying." Dermot is set to hit the BAFTA red carpet for footage for E! and he claims he is petrified of ruining one of the stars dress.
He added, "I'll be over the moon if I get to interview Meryl Streep - though I'd be mortified if I stood on her dress!" It was recently suggested that Dermot O’Leary would be taking over from the axed Steve Jones, as the host of The X Factor USA. However, Dermot has denied those rumours, claiming that he is currently very happy hosting the UK version of the show.
