Despicable Me 2 set for 2013

Despicable Me 2 set for 2013

The official release date for Despicable Me 2 has been revealed and fans will have to wait another two years before they can enjoy the follow up to one of the hit movies of 2010. Universal Pictures have confirmed that Steve Carell's little yellow minions will return to the big screen on July 2, 2013.

It will be interesting to see how will Despicable Me 2 fairs at the box office. Although the first one did make a staggering $544 million worldwide, Despicable Me 2 will be hitting the big screens only two weeks after the sequel to the Pixar hit Monsters Inc. is released.

Monsters University is set to be released on June 21, 2013 and although kids will want to see both, prices for cinema tickets are not exactly cheap. Whether or not this will affect the gross of Despicable Me 2 remains to be seen but I for one, intend to see both.
