Puerto Rican actress Roselyn Sánchez has had a very busy year. Juggling her part on Devious Maids with the challenges of raising her now 21 month old daughter with husband Eric Winter is intense, but incredibly rewarding as well. The actress recently spoke out on the balancing act she's been doing.
"It's a lot of work," Sánchez said. "It's so intense when you become a parent. You realize it's not about you anymore."
The 40-year-old actress gave birth to her daughter, Sabella Rose just a month before accepting the lead role in Lifetime's hit series Devious Maids as Carmen Luna. Sanchez says that after working her way up the Hollywood ladder from humble beginnings, she really relates to the character.
"When I read the script and I saw Carmen, I was like... 'I get her!' because I sing and I know what it is to leave your country and move to the States to be able to become a performer."
In spite of harsh reviews from critics, Devious Maids was recently renewed for a second season, which Sánchez found incredibly satisfying. The star said she and the other cast members feel "vindicated" now that the show is a success.
