There had been a lot of speculation surrounding the future of the hit television series Dexter, with fans praying for it to keep running beyond the upcoming eighth season. Unfortunately, it has now been confirmed that Dexter Season Eight will definitely be the final season of the show.

Chief executive Les Moonves was talking about the upcoming scheduling for CBS, when he gave away the fact that Dexter is finally coming to an end, "We have 'Ray Donovan' coming on with Liev Schreiber, which comes on with 'Dexter's' last season starting in June, and then we have 'Masters of Sex'" he stated.
It was obvious that Dexter could not run for too much longer, as he was always going to eventually get caught out but fans were hoping that a season or two more could be worked out. It will now be interesting to see how they go about season and Dexter (Michael C Hall) being unveiled as the killer.

For those of you who cannot wait for the eighth and final season of Dexter, we don't have much longer, as Dexter Season Eight is set to premiere on CBS on June 30.
