Bollywood producer/actor star Dia Mirza recently visited the television show "Comedy Nights" to talk about her new movie "Bobby Jasoos" and she brought the female lead star of the movie, Vidya Balan.
The movie is similar to Dia Mirza in that it is unique to Bollywood films because the movie revolves around a woman and in the world of Bollywood it is becoming apparent that the producer of the movie takes a back seat to no one either behind the camera or in front of it. In the movie Viday Balyan plays the role of a detective and will be seen in several different avators.
She and the leading lady of her new comedy movie production "Bobby Jasoos" both looked beautiful dressed in their ethnic ensembles.
During the music launch for the film she discussed how in most films the female lead in many Hindi films is window dressing and those films that do revolve around women are based on serious subjects and rarely are family-oriented films. Her goal with this film is to bring forth a movie in which the female lead is the centre of the action in a commercial, family entertainment movie.
Another aspect that some entertainment insiders are looking at is the fact that a beautiful actress as a female lead in a comedy will draw both women, men of all ages and families to the theaters. lt can be difficult to get men to want to come to a theater but the prospect of watching an attractive woman who can make them laugh is an added bonus and is a strategy that has been used very effectively in Hollywood and looks as if Dia Mirza is taking the same approach.
Dia Mirza is changing the image of women in Bollywood by producing films that show women not just in serious, dramatic roles but also as protagonists in comedies that revolve around the character of the woman and some entertainment insiders suspect that the movie "Bobby Jasoos" fans will be successful both at the box office and in the receipt of critical acclaim as a result.
