Diane Lane is proof that actresses over forty years old, even though they're not Meryl Streep, can continue to have strong acting careers. After having come off playing Martha Kent in this summer's 'Man of Steel', Lane has officially been confirmed to play Hillary Clinton in an upcoming NBC miniseries.
NBC announced a four-hour miniseries, which will star Lane as Hillary, although no one has yet been confirmed as playing Bill Clinton. However, the biopic miniseries will focus on Hillary, not her husband, and her transition from becoming the first lady to presidential candidate and US Secretary of State.
Lane has had a tremendously diverse career over the past two decades, and she's starred in everything from sci-fi films to dramas to biopics and thrillers. She's perhaps best known for 'Unfaithful', 'Jumper', and 'The Perfect Storm' from her commercial film, and she was also nominated for an Oscar for her role in 'Unfaithful'.
She will next be seen in 'Every Secret Thing', but this role as Hillary Clinton could net her yet another Emmy award after 'Cinema Verite' and 'Lonesome Dove'. Of course, she has plenty of experience in television and films, so this won't really be much of a departure for her.
