It was reported last year that English rapper Dizzee Rascal would be set to write a no holds barred book about his life up to now and that he would be releasing the autobiography in 2012. However, Dizzee has now had a change of heart, claiming that he does not yet have enough material to write a whole book and that he is currently focussing on finishing his latest album.
Dizzee explained, "It's on hold at the moment. You look at someone like Katie Price, who's churning them out, and I thought I didn't want to become like Jordan. I won't go back to it until I've got enough stuff to write.” He added, “I'm just focusing on my next album now, which I'm about a quarter of the way through."
It was revealed towards the end of last year that Universal Records, who had just brought out EMI Records, had signed up Dizzee Rascal in a multi layered deal. It is believed that a number of the artists who are signed to the Dizzee Rascal label Dirtee Stank, will also receive some financial backing from the record company. Dizzee Rascal’s fifth album is set to be released later this year.
