English actor Matt Smith is coming to the end of his run as Doctor Who, with his last episode as the Doctor coming in the Christmas special. Matt has made the move into Hollywood films and has some interesting projects coming up in the near future.
Matt was at the San Diego Comic-Con when he spoke about his appreciation for director J.J. Abrams, admitting that he would love to work with him. Matt said that he would love to get a role in either Star Trek or Star Wars, although he says that Benedict Cumberbatch has already beaten him to the English villain role.
Smith explained, "Yeah, I would [work with] JJ or Star Wars. So, just putting it out there. Ben's kind of done the English villain now, hasn't he? And he was great in it. I love Star Trek and I love J.J. Abrams. What that man can do with a steadycam is amazing."
Matt Smith recently finished working on the Ryan Gosling directorial debut How to Catch a Monster, which also stars Eva Mendes, Saoirse Ronan and Christina Hendricks. How to Catch a Monster will hit the big screen sometime in 2014.
