Slovakian tennis star Dominika Cibulkova will go back to the drawing board and work on making improvements in her tennis game, after suffering a very disappointing time at the Australian Open this month. There is no denying that Dominika is capable of mixing it with some of the best in the game but she failed to show that potential in Australia, falling at the first hurdle.
Dominika Cibulkova lost in her first round match to French star Kristina Mladenovic, failing to put up much of a fight as she lost the opening match in straight sets, losing 6-3 6-4. Following her early exit from the singles tournament, Dominika took to Twitter to say, "Not the result I wanted this year at @AustralianOpen but thats sport and thats life! u have to move on????#nevergiveup." Let's hope we get to see the best of her at the next tournament.
With that said, Dominika Cibulkova did manage to enjoy a little more success in the women's doubles at the Australian Open, where she partnered Belgian star Kirsten Flipkens. The two won their first round match 6-4 3-6 6-4, before then easing through their second round match 6-3 7-5, before finally losing out in the third round, going down 7-5 2-6 4-6.
Following her exit from the doubles event, Dominika again took to Twitter, this time to thank her doubles partner, saying, "Thank you partner for nice week at @AustralianOpen in @Melbourne!?????????? time to go home now... #SlovakTennis ."
Let's hope that we can see this stunning Slovakian star back to her best in the near future.
