Domenik Cibulkova is currently the number 24 ranked women's singles tennis player in the world but despite the difference in ranking she should be considered the favourite in her upcoming match against Maria Sharapova because of how impressively she has defeated her three previous opponents.

Maria Sharpova, the world's number three ranked player is not nearly as strong a player as Domenik Cibulkova and has not played exceptionally well in her past three matches. Her most recent match took over three hours for her to defeat Alize Cornet of France, 6-1, 7-6 (8-6), the number 25 ranked player in the world and someone who is not playing nearly as well as Domenik Cibulkova.
