Douglas Booth is considered one of the most attractive actors in the entertainment industry but its a designation he tries to 'diminish' because of his fear that if the media and fans focus on his handsome looks he will not be looked at seriously as an actor (The Guardian - May 27).
For some fans he is an intriguing actor who some imagine is a dream and nightmare client for his entertainment management team as his interview comments with "The Guardian" revealed.
The talented actor stated in "The Guardian" interview that he has passed up opportunities to play feature roles in blockbuster 'franchise' film projects because he prefers to work with directors that 'interest' him, a disclosure that endears him to film critics and aficionados but likely leaves his agents at times wondering 'what if?' concerning the commissions they would have made had he joined the project.
He is an actor in pursuit of the ultimate carrot which is the respect of the acting community and to some fans sounds as if he were given the choice of incredible wealth and fame from a role or being chosen a nominee for best actor would almost certainly choose the latter. His intense focus and desire to become an actor known for having superior acting range explains to some his decisions to work under the guidance of renowned directors such as Darren Aronofsky in the film "Noah" and Danish director Lorne Scherfig in "The Riot Club".
An actor motivated by an incredible desire to be viewed as a true thespian by his peers and filmmakers and has many fans believing he is on his way to achieving his stated goal is the deliciously looking (don't call him handsome), immensely talented star of "Jupiter Ascending", Douglas Booth.
