It was the movie remake that was going to have to do something very wrong to not be better than the original and fortunately for everyone involved, it was much better. Now, writer Alex Garland has been discussing the possible direction that a Dredd sequel could take, if it was to be made.
Garland explained, “From my point of view, the politics is a lot of what I wanted to get into. There's a lot of stuff that's implied in the first film that you could really explore a lot more in the second. Dredd is part of a police state. He's a fascist.”

He added, “The subversives are sometimes the enemy in the comic books – there's something really interesting about pro-democracy terrorists, where the bad guys are the people fighting for democracy. Of course, they're not bad guys, because you should be fighting for democracy. I would like to explore that.”
While Dredd 3D is much better than the Sylvester Stallone Judge Dredd movie, it has not been fairing too well at the box office, which has led many to assume that there will be no interest in a Dredd 2. However, sequels have been known to outperform originals in the past and Alex Garland will be hoping to get the chance to do just that.
What the you think of the Dredd 3D movie? Do you think they should make a sequel?
