It has been reported that, professional wrestler turned Hollywood superstar, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is set to sign on to star in the latest G.I. Joe movie. G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes is the follow up to the 2009 hit G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
The film is going to be directed by Jon Chu and already boasts original star Channing Tatum in the lead role again. Fast Five star, Dwayne would play a character called Marvin F. Hinton, codenamed Roadblock, who is not only an experienced gunner but also the teams chef.
Shooting for the movie is set to start this month with an expected release date of August 10 2012. Negotiations with Johnson are still ongoing and as of yet, Paramount have neither confirmed or denied his involvement in the project.
