Actor Dylan O'Brien has become best known for his role as Stiles in the hit television series Teen Wolf and, thanks to the success of the show, Dylan has seen many new opportunities coming his way. Fans of Teen Wolf will already be very familiar with the actor who is about to become a household name around the world.
Dylan O'Brien will appear on the big screen in the lead role of Thomas in the upcoming, big screen adaptation of the hit novel The Maze Runner. With the movie release just around the corner, Dylan has spoken about playing the lead role, revealing what it was that drew him to the role.
O'Brien told Collider, "Just like anything, I just auditioned for it. It’s funny. The way Wes told me it happened was, at first, I went in on it initially with the casting director, just like everybody. I didn’t hear back for like a month and a half, because Wes was like, 'His hair is too MTV!' That’s what he thought, which was so funny."
Fortunately for Dylan, Wes managed to get a hold of a picture of the actor with better hair, which managed to win the director over, "Then he saw a picture of me with more regular hair, the buzzcut or something from Teen Wolf, and he brought me back and it worked. It just ended up working out," added O'Brien.
As well as starring Dylan O'Brien, The Maze Runner cast also includes Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Will Poulter, Kaya Scodelario and Patricia Clarkson. The Maze Runner is directed by Wes Ball and will open on September 19 in the US and October 10 in the UK.
