Appologies to Ryan Gosling fans everywhere but the actor is reportedly not a frontrunner for the part of Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Rumors that the actor is the frontrunner to play wealthy S&M entushiast Christian in the film are apparently untrue - and this is coming from the author E.L. James herself.
James visited Ryan Seacrest's morning show to discuss her hit book series. Earlier this month, several media outlets quoted E.L.'s husband Niall Leonard as saying "last he heard" Ryan was the top choice. However, James told Ryan Seacrest that those stories were "completely misreported."
"What happened is that his local paper called the Belfast Telegraph that reported on my husband being the inspiration for Christian Grey. Underneath it they put a picture of Ryan Gosling, as well. So, that’s how that came about," the writer clarified.
Seacrest threw a few more actors into the ring, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Ian Somerhalder and Chris Pine, but James purposely refrained from responding, but did admit she's a big "Vampire Diaries" fan. She added that selecting the lead was up to the studio and that they weren't that far along in the casting process yet.
