Speculation has been rife about who will play dominant lover Christian Grey in the movie version of E.L. James' 'Fifty Shades of Grey', and now the author herself has spoken out.

james said that she doesn't want to reveal who she would like to play the role - but did reveal who the firm favourites are.
The writer, who's books are now set to become a multi-million pound franchise, name checked early favourites Ryan Gosling, Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder when discussing who she thinks should get the role.

Speaking at an event to launch the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' album in London, the author said:
“Rather stupidly I put two of the first chapters from Christian’s point of view at the end of 'Fifty Shades Freed', and now every other tweet, that is not about Matt Bomer or Ian Somerhalder, or whoever, Ryan Gosling, is saying that can we have Christian’s point of view please. So maybe I will do that, I don’t know."
However, James also revealed that she may be forced to keep quiet in case movie bosses don't like her choice, adding: “The thing is that if I say I want 'so-and-so' to do it and then they don’t want to... it’s just best to keep your mouth shut”.
