Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift have always had a on again/off again relationship in the tabloids, but the real question is whether there’s any truth to the rumors that they’re dating. A source told E! that the two did use to date, saying that they, “briefly dated last spring. He thinks she is really cute and they have a great chemistry together."

Now, a source has told E! News that Ed actually spend the night at Taylor’s hotel before the BRIT Awards, adding that Ed arrived at her hotel late in the night and went to Taylor’s room without stopping anywhere else.
The witness says the duo, “stayed in the room, just the two of them, until around 4 a.m.,” and when Ed finally left, “he looked very pleased with himself.”

While Taylor has just broken up with Ed’s good friend Harry Styles, she’ll be seeing plenty of Ed because he’s going to be opening for her on her tour, which lasts all the way from March to September. Since she clearly doesn’t care what Harry seems to think [see: the incident where she embarrassed him at the Grammy Awards and then dressed up as him for a music video], she might not hesitate in making a move on Ed. After all, they’re already very good friends, reports say that Ed has always had a crush on her, and they’ll be together for an extended period of time without anyone interfering.
