Ed Sheeran is currently promoting the Red tour with Taylor Swift, and he has a new interview with the Daily Star [via TVNZ] discussing his friendship with One Direction.
Sheeran gets rid of preconceptions and reveals that the boys of 1D are not into raucous partying when they hang out, but rather things that are a lot more 'chill'. He explains, "Whenever I hang out with them, they are very relaxed. A couple came to stay at my house over Christmas. When Niall was there we played Monopoly and when Harry was there we watched 'One Day' because he insisted on seeing it...The last couple of times we hung out, we did the least rock 'n' roll things."
He adds that gone are the days that musicians could go around smashing things up, saying, "Nobody goes round smashing TVs any more. Everyone in music, bar a couple of people, is really polite now.The reason is people have to like you to buy your record. You can't just go out there and be an idiot."
Sheeran seems to be an incredibly bright and mature young man, especially considering that he's managed to maintain friendships with both the boys of One Direction and Taylor Swift without causing any gossip or drama. Of course, tabloids are constantly trying to hook him up with Swift, but have so far failed to be accurate.
