There seem to be certain roles over the years which have gone on to develop a bit of a reputation as being cursed and in some cases there really does seem to be something behind the claims. Just take a look at the role of John Connor in the Terminator franchise for example. Here we take a look at some of the stars that have played the role and how it has affected them.
Thomas Dekker played John Connor

Back in 1991 we first got a look at the character John Connor in the movie Terminator 2: Judgement Day, with the actor Edward Furlong being cast in the role. While Edward did go on to put in some impressive performances in some other projects since then, he is probably best known for his run-ins with the law, especially when he was found lying in his own sick and was suspected of a heroin overdose. Bad times!

Hollywood actor Christian Bale may well be one of the most sought after actors in the business, giving us some fantastic performances over the years, but his time as John Connor was certainly not one of them. Back in 2009 Christian Bale was filming the role of John Connor for the movie Terminator Salvation, when he went absolutely mental, with his tirade being caught on video and going viral.

Away from the movie franchise, we have also seen Terminator being given a television series with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. In this series we saw Thomas Dekker taking on the role of John Connor but the series was cancelled and Thomas was arrested after hitting a cyclist with his car following a suspected DUI.

The next actor we will see in the role of John Connor is Jason Clarke, who plays the role in the movie Terminator: Genisys, which will open on June 26, 2015 in the UK and July 1, 2015 in the US. It will be interesting to see how Jason fares after playing the role.
