With the Marvel Cinematic Universe growing every year, giving us a number of different movies on a yearly basis, we get to cast our eyes over plenty of new characters on the big screen. In the end credits scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier we got a glimpse of Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, and we will get to see plenty more of them in the movie Avengers: Age of Ultron next year.
There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the new characters and the two stars have been fairly open about their roles. Playing the role of Scarlet Witch takes a lot of energy and requires being in top physical shape, and now Elizabeth Olsen has spoken about working out to play the new character.
Olsen was chatting to Cover Media, when she explained, "I always like working out. I guess I grew up being an athlete. I am not obsessive with anything really, but I am a witch, so I get to use energy fields. But that’s it. (laughs)"
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Olsen also went on to give us a little more insight into her character, teasing fans of what they can expect from Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Elizabeth also admitted that it is great fun to be a part of such a huge movie franchise.
Olsen added, "My character is incredible and absolutely out of her mind. [She's] incredibly passionate and thinks she’s in control more than she actually is. She’s stubborn and an epic woman who has not been created by a human yet. So it’s really fun to be a part of that and try and honour fans."
We cannot wait to see what Elizabeth Olsen brings to the role of Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which will open on April 24, 2015 in the UK, before then hitting the US on May 1, 2015.
Do you think Elizabeth Olsen will make a good Scarlet Witch?
