Hollywood actress Dakota Fanning has been in the entertainment industry since she was just a very little girl, appearing in a number of different projects over the years, becoming one of the biggest names in Hollywood. Meanwhile, her sister Elle Fanning has followed in her footsteps and has slowly but surely made a name for herself in Hollywood in her own right.

While these two actresses have enjoyed success Hollywood careers over the past few years, it was recently revealed how they are related to the English Royal Family, after experts traced back their family history to King Edward III. Elle Fanning has now opened up about the exciting news, admitting that she was amazed to learn of the connection.
 
Elle told EOnline, "It's so weird. I saw it the other day. My cousins called me up and they were like, 'Look online!' I looked online and like, King Edward Iii is my great great-great-grandfather. I was like, 'Is this real?' It's crazy."

Meanwhile, Elle Fanning then went on to admit that she has always been interested in learning about her family history, so is glad that somebody has actually gone to the effort of doing it for her, "I've always wanted to do the ancestry.com thing because I think it would be really cool. But someone did it for me, which I think is great," she added.
 
Fans of Elle Fanning can see the actress starring alongside Angelina Jolie in the new movie Maleficent, which sees her in the role of Aurora. Maleficent is directed by Robert Stromberg and is out now in both the US and the UK.
