Hollywood actress Ellen Page has come on in leaps and bounds, since bursting onto the scene with her impressive performance in the movie Juno. There was recent reports that Ellen is set to move away from acting for a little while, to have a crack at directing a film of her own.

However, before then, she will have a little promoting to do, for her next movie The East, which sees Ellen Page starring alongside Alexander Skarsgard. The East featured at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and it has now been given its official release date.
The East centres around an elite intelligence operative, who is tasked with infiltrating an anarchist group known for carrying out attacks on major corporations. However, she soon finds herself coming round to their way of thinking and has to battle with her changing views.

As well as starring Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard, The East also stars Brit Marling, Toby Kebbell, Shiloh Fernandez and Patricia Clarkson. Meanwhile, Zal Batmanglij was the given the task of directing The East, based on the screenplay that he penned with Brit Marling. The East is set for limited release on May 31.
