Hollywood actress Ellen Page has put in some very impressive performance in some very interesting roles in some exciting movies during the course of her successful acting career to date. Ellen has appeared alongside the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio in Inception, and Michael Cera in Juno, and has managed to more than hold her own against other Hollywood stars on-screen.
Earlier this year, Ellen Page came out as being gay and the actress has now opened up about her decision to come out and what made her hold back on making the announcement about her sexuality. Ellen has been out to her parents since she was just 19 but the 27-year-old waited until this year to come out, as she was worried her sexuality would have a negative impact on her career.
Page explained to The Hollywood Reporter, "For so long I just sort of thought, 'You just can't. I love being an actor, it's a huge part of my life, so I'm going to keep that private.' And, 'Oh, I have to keep it private because my job is about creating an illusion' and kind of all those bulls**t excuses. Because I don't see heterosexual actresses going to great lengths to hide their heterosexuality."
With that said, Ellen now admits that she is happier than she has ever been and cannot wait to meet that special someone and settle down to start a family, "I'm so stoked to get married. I'm such a romantic, it's awful. I don't think I'd want to make a kid, but I'd love to raise one. I knew I would be happier. But I wouldn't have anticipated just how f***ing happy I am and how every tiny little aspect of my life feels better," added Page.
As for her acting career, fans of Ellen Page can see her reprising her role as Kitty Pryde in X-Men: Days of Future Past, which opens on May 22 in the UK and May 23 in the US.
