Well, we can't say we're surprised... Emeli Sande was the big winner at the Mobo Awards in Liverpool last night, taking home an amazing three awards!
The singer - who had a starring role in the London Olympic games this summer - is often referred to as the voice of the year, or the 'biggest thing in music right now'. She collected the awards for 'Best Album' for her hit LP 'Our Version Of Events', the 'Best Female' award, and the 'Best R&B/Soul' one to top it off! What a great night for the singer, who has been riding high on a wave of success recently, including enjoying a number one spot for her duet with Labrinth, 'Beneath Your Beautiful.'
Other winners of the evening included rapper Plan B who took home the 'Best Male' and 'Best Hip-Hop/Grime' awards, and Rita Ora who picked up the 'Best Newcomer' award.
There were also gongs for JLS (Best Video), Labrinth (Best Song for Earthquake) and Nicki Minaj (Best International Act).
The surviving members of TLC attended to collect their 'Outstanding Contribution To Music' award, while pop legend Dionne Warwick was given the 'Lifetime Achievement' award.
