Fans of music superstar Emeli Sande have been waiting for her new album to drop for quite a while now and it seems that the wait was well worth it, with the release of the very impressive new record Long Live the Angels. Emeli has now opened up about her new album, stating that her aim for Long Live the Angels is for the new record to inspire women around the world.
Sande explained, "The message of the album for me is just you gotta tell the truth, you don't have to be ladylike about it but tell the truth and stand up for what you believe in. We can't be passive anymore. The whole kind of concept is a heavy dark time and I feel that truth and love and honesty, it's kind of not encouraged any more, it's under attack if anything."
While she initially struggled with the new album, Emeli admits that the help and support of her family and friends got her back on the right track, "I got stressed out thinking about it. I hung out with Naughty Boy and my sister and they were like 'Listen, you need to chill out, just go back to how you made it the last time,'" she added.
While we really enjoy Long Live the Angels, and we expect that this album will go on to be just as successful as her debut album Our Version of Events, we just hope that she does not take quite as long to bring us her next album.
